Pricing & Finance
Savings for you and the environment.
Let’s take a look at the numbers. How much does an average solar energy system cost and what are the savings you are likely to gain? What are the options for finance? What subsidies are available?
Costs & savingsOur solar photovoltaic (PV) systems start from $6,000. Our most popular systems are 3kw and 5kw solar grid-connected systems. A 3kW system will save you around $1,250 per year if all of the power generated is consumed (based on power cost of 30c/kW). Over 25 years you could save more than $31,000 measured at today’s power prices. Real savings, taking into account power price increases, would be far in excess of this.
Maximum savings are realised with self consumption. This may involve changing consumption behaviour, or using smart energy management systems to optimise use of all power generated.
Saving for the Environment
Investing in solar is not just about saving money, it’s also about saving our pristine environment. By investing in solar energy you’re helping to reduce New Zealand’s carbon footprint by reducing undesirable emissions. Good for you, good for the environment!
